Kelly Adams has taught at East Carolina University School of Art and Design since 1997 in the painting and drawing and first year programs.

Adams trained at East Carolina University and received a MFA in 1996. Her work has been exhibited nationally in Atlantic Gallery NYC, Clemson University, Ohio Northern University, Chicago, and California. Internationally she has shown in Cologne, Germany and Pago Pago, American Samoa with solo shows in Florida, Maryland, and NC Museum of Natural Science.

Working primarily in drawing media on personal and ecological themes, Adams believes that direct experience is crucial to understanding environmental issues. She has traveled extensively and lived in New Zealand, South Pacific islands, and Europe where she has instructed, lectured, and worked. Adams was selected for artists residencies in three National Parks within Colorado, Arizona, and Tennessee.
