My work consists of functional and sculptural handmade ceramic artwork that is inspired by stories, myth, dreams and symbols. Most often I explore themes of home, childhood, loss, nature and the feminine experience. I work intuitively to reveal something of the inner enchanted and eerie world. My work references the animal world, by incorporating anthropomorphic figures either drawn on or made out of clay. These figures are emblematic of the quiet stolen moments of ordinary life, as well as the emotional, physical and spiritual connections we create through our complex journeys. Every piece of piece I make is one of a kind. I use hand- building and surface decorating techniques that have been practiced for centuries.
