Sinjin Samluk
BFA ’21 Animation/Interactive Design
Hello, my name is Sinjin Samaluk and I am an East Carolina University graduate with a BFA in Fine Arts and a concentration in Animation. I love working with 3D modeling and I use Maya and Blender to make my scenes come to life. I model in different styles depending on what I am working on, I can make anything from a realistic feel to a stylized art form.

Merp’s World, 2021
This is a scene in blender I made for a character I drew called Merp. Merp is an alien and I pictured him on a dry sandy planet such as Mars. He has dry rough skin to match his dry desolate environment.

The Art of Lock-Picking, 2020
This is a scene where we had to show how a machine or mechanism works in Maya. I chose to show how the inside of a lock works and I decided the method to opening the lock would be by picking it. The scene is set on a worktable and tries to pick the lock. The video shows how the inside of the lock opens by pushing the pins the right length so that the lock will turn and open.

Blacksmith Workshop, 2019
This is a blacksmith’s workshop I modeled after a 19th century blacksmith. This animation showcases the many tools a blacksmith uses and what they would have looked like. Made in Maya.

Across the Way Stop Motion , 2019
This project is different from all my other projects, and it was surprisingly a lot of fun to do. We were tasked with making a stop motion video and I decided to use playdough as my medium. I made a story about two creatures living across from each other and they decide to check one another out.

Cool Day Campfire, 2021
I enjoy making different kinds of scenes and I decided to make a little campfire site. The campfire is surrounded by grass with a background of trees to make it seem like a small opening in a larger forest.
