Emily DeBerry

BFA ’21 Animation/Interactive Design

Introduction
Raised in the small town of Laurinburg, North Carolina, I am the first in my family to be graduating from University. In May 2021, I’ll be graduating with a BFA with Concentration in Animation/Interactive Design, with a Minor in Creative Writing. My area of expertise within the field is Character Design/Concept Art, but I also enjoy creating animations through programs such as After Effects.

Statement
Since I was young, I have been a fan of video games and animated shows, and it is something that I never grew out of. Escaping into the worlds shown on my screens was a pastime for me and helped foster my love of art. My biggest dream since I was little was to one day create something like the games I played or the movies I watched. To have my own story and universe out for others to enjoy. And with my degrees and drive to do so, I will do precisely that.

To create a universe that others enjoy, a story and characters that have lasting effects on others, and help foster others like I was as a child into following the same dreams; That is my ultimate goal. And I hope to one day achieve it.
