Damien Jones
BFA ’20 Animation and Interactive Design
I was born in Florida but I currently live in Winston-Salem, NC. I’ve had a passion for art since I was very young. As a kid, I used to fill pieces of printer paper with sketches of different cartoon characters and ideas. I came to East Carolina as an intended business major, but I switched to Animation and Interactive Design because in my heart I knew my passion for art would be the key to my happiness.
Work
I always loved cartoon animations as a kid because of the freedom characters have in them. Characters can do anything beyond imagination and nothing is off-limits. When I create my animations, I want the audience to feel as if their ideas can go beyond the real world.

Cursed Wand Zap, 2019
A stop-motion animation of a three-eyed wizard whose wand keeps sending him into different dimensions. I collaborated with my classmate Kofi on this project.
I created the story, modeled the characters, and modeled the environments.
