Diana Mungaray

BFA ’20 Animation and Interactive Design

Raised in Stoneville, North Carolina, Diana Mungaray grew up enthralled by the world around her. This fascination stayed with her as she pursued art- translating watercolor pine trees in her composition book. Diana then grew up to be an avid artist that is enraptured by the eccentric and unorthodox. Her work comes from a whimsical place as she creates stylized artwork that amuses her, and hopefully, her viewers.

Artist Statement
To me, my work is an extension of my interests and wackiness. If somebody can find entertainment from my obscure humor, then I know my work has reached its purpose. Some of my biggest inspirations are animated shows, and I genuinely admired how happy I felt watching them. They motivated me to be wacky and to always have a child-like sense of wonder. With their influence, I hope to be able to contribute to future generations’ happiness one day. Which is something I want to bring more of, into the world- whether it be through the dedication of my craft or my unorthodox humor.
