FALL 2024 JURIED UNDERGRADUATE EXHIBITION
Currently enrolled undergraduate students in the School of Art and Design are invited to submit up to four pieces to the Fall 2024 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition. Entry and jurying will happen online via Cafe.
Exhibition Schedule
- Call for entries opens August 27 and closes September 12 at midnight CST.
- Jurying from September 15-17
- Notification of acceptance September 20
- Artwork Drop-off, September 30
- On view Friday, October 4 – Friday, October 25
- Awards Ceremony and Reception: Thursday October 17, 5-8 pm, Awards announced at 5 pm, Reception directly afterwards.
- Artwork pickup, October 28 & 29
Eligibility:
- Students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in East Carolina University School of Art and Design.
- Works must be completed between September 2023 and September 2024 as part of coursework in the School of Art and Design.
- All media are eligible.
Entry Requirements:
- Students are allowed to submit up to four individual pieces and can also be collaborators on up to five additional pieces. Each art piece will be a separate application. (Remember, the limit is four individual or five collaborative applications under group accounts.)
- There is no fee to enter artwork; however, the payment process must be completed to complete the application.
- Collaborative pieces are to be submitted under a group account at CAFE.
- Applications may have at least one image or video with up to two detail images if needed.
Awards
- Best in Show $500
- Second Place $300
- Third Place $200
- Merit Awards 10 at $100 each
- Friends of the School of Art and Design Awards 2 at $150 each
- Nell Cole Graves Award for Ceramics $50
For group awards, prize money will be distributed evenly. Award funds will be distributed through student financial accounts.

By applying to the exhibition the applicant has agreed for the work to be featured online and for promotional, or publicity purposes.
The School of Art and Design reserves the right to use applicant images for educational, promotional, or publicity purposes. The School and Wellington B. Gray Gallery will not reproduce your work for sale. If an applicant is not a East Carolina University School of Art and Design student the application will be removed from the call.

Juror
Co-owner of Gallery 164, Jerry has over 27 years of experience in art non-profit and gallery management. Jerry is excited to call Waynesville home after working at key arts organizations across North Carolina. Jerry is an avid collector and holds a BFA and MFA in ceramics and painting from East Carolina University. As a maker, Jerry is currently working in mixed-media painting.
Application Requirements
Entry Requirements:

There is no fee to enter artwork. However, the application will not complete and upload if the payment process is not completed in its entirety. Go to the payment page and click the submit button.
For each application submitted, the following information is required:
- Title of Work
- Artwork Medium – (what the artwork is made of)
- Work Dimensions – (width x height x depth)
- Course name and number that the artwork was completed in:
- (e.g.) ART 2230 Illustration Survey or ART 1014 Narrative in Art and Design
- Course Instructor
- Semester work was completed (Fall, spring, or summer), and year.
- Also include- Insurance value, selling price, if work is for sale. If not for sale, mark NFS.
- Include installation and space requirements for each submitted piece. Is there any special installation information? Is it a wall, pedestal or plinth piece (short pedestal for sculptural objects)? What size pedestal or plinth is required? Is a vitrine required?
- Eligibility is open to original artworks by current students. The valuation is as provided by the Lender/Artist.
Artwork Images
One image with description and up to 2 detail images per piece/ application. One detail video of the piece may also be uploaded per application.
