Seo Eo received an MFA in Art from Indiana University, Bloomington, and taught at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis before moving to North Carolina in 1996 to join the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University.
A Korean native, Eo has lived in Japan and Bolivia, and at age 19, relocated to the U.S. to pursue his education in art. The experiences in different cultures and languages have shaped his work, emphasizing the relationship between materials and cultural conventions. Eo introduces the renewed narratives through displays that invite participants to investigate the familiar in a context otherwise absent within the secure habits of everyday exchanges.
