Before coming to the US to study art education, Dr. Kim received a Master’s degree in Aesthetics from Seoul National University and taught art history and aesthetics in various Korean universities. Her research interests are in biological and philosophical aesthetics, art history, and design education. Besides publishing theoretical articles, she often contributes articles on her art projects to Arts and Activities for practicing art teachers. Her initial artistic medium was ceramic sculpture exploring architectural spaces and their meanings. Her interest in architecture led her to deeply appreciate Romanesque church architecture when she first visited the pilgrim churches in France in 2007. She had several solo shows in the US and in Korea and her photos have been included in numerous juried shows.
