Cynthia Bickley-Green has received grants from the Nation Endowment for the Humanities, The North Carolina Arts Council, Eisenhower program in mathematics and science, and the NC Space Consortium. Her paintings explore aftereffects in representational and abstract imagery. Kendall Hunt published her book Art Elements: Biological, Global, and Interdisciplinary Foundations in 2011. Her research and publications explore how visual media shape personal and social identities and world-views. The work demonstrates that the visual arts effectively transmit cultural understandings and interdisciplinary knowledge in classroom and other settings and have the potential to transform behavior. Her interdisciplinary visual art research explores entoptic imagery.
