Touched by a painting of Carel Fabritius, “The Goldfinch”, the 17th century work conveys the intent to tame nature, the artist’s privilege to render power over subject. As an imagemaker, the likeness becomes autobiographical and surreal, tethered by a delicate chain to a novelty postcard.
