Irene Bailey
Graduated 1995

In 1995 Bailey received her Masters of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting from East Carolina University. Her thesis show consisted of portraits of her professors. This show was the elevator of her success as a portrait artist as corporate and family portrait commissions started coming in. Bailey has continued to hone her skills studying under master artists. As an international award-winning artist, Bailey was honored in 2007 as one of 100 Incredible ECU Women of 100 years’ in their Centennial Publication. Some of her other awards have been from The Portrait Society of America, NXT Level/33 Contemporary Gallery, Chicago, IL;Portrait Society of Atlanta; American Heritage National Competition, Washington DC; Oil Painters of America; Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Juried Exhibition, Salmagundi Club, NYC to name a few. Irene Bailey resides on Emerald Isle, NC, where she operates a studio, gallery and Art School, teaching weekly classes, Portrait workshops and on a regular basis provides a model for artists to paint with her.
