I began at ECU as a painting major. During my Sophomore year, I saw an exhibition of printmaking in the hallway. I had never seen printmaking before. As I was viewing the work, my mind was screaming, ‘I have to learn how to do this!’ So my journey with Donald Sexauer began in printmaking, with painting as my minor. ECU was the perfect fit for me as an art student, and my education there was excellent. A year after graduating with a BFA, I moved to New York City where I printed at Bob Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop, and eventually set up a printmaking studio with other printmakers.
Printmaking has been a lifelong journey for me. Mid-life I received a Masters in Education, and have shared printmaking processes with thousands of students over the years.
