Graduated 2018

My work is inspired by my travels to the California desert and the mid-century modern environment that is so prevalent in Palm Springs. Throughout my time at ECU, I chose to work with both traditional techniques as well as digital technology to mend the growing gap between the time-honored, traditional ways of creating fiber art and the contemporary styles we see in today’s society, which is almost completely digital. Designed in Photoshop then woven on a TC2 hand jacquard loom, “Painted Canyon” is a prime example of when old meets new.

I always find myself thinking back to late nights in Jenkins, surrounded by other passionate individuals, working towards the same goal: creating and having fun doing it. Between art school, business school, D1 athletics, and just trying to soak up all I could, I could not imagine a better five years. Thank you to the faculty, staff, classmates, and friends that made my college experience so great. Once a Pirate, always a Pirate!!
