Ariel Dorcent
BFA ’20 Film and Video Production
Ariel Dorcent is a cinematographer, director, writer, producer, and editor. Her passion for filmmaking sparked in high school. She further nurtured her intense passion for filmmaking in 2015 after she graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. In the following summer of 2016, she made the decision to pursue a Bachelors in Fine Arts with a concentration in Film and Video Production. She started her journey at Pitt Community College and was accepted and transferred to East Carolina University’s School of Art and Design in January of 2017. Following these immense achievements, she was later discovered by Koinonia Christian Center Church and offered a part-time internship as a video editor in May of 2018. In November of 2018, she was promoted to the head video editor and content creator for the church. In addition to school and her rigorous work schedule, she was afforded multiple opportunities in school to develop her craft as a filmmaker in which she received an award-winning opportunity during campus movie fest in the role of cinematographer. After graduation, Ariel hopes to free-lance, own a successful business, write, direct and produce films and get discovered for her personal works.
